The descent (Gooseneck) route is easier. It can be approached from the reservation (as in the TR) or two longer THs.
There are some more detailed at the end of part two.

The Wells & Tourist Creek routes are shorter & worth a look:

Re: Gannett Peak in Wyoming
Well said!! I might add, Gannetts technicality changes from year to year, and season to season, depending on the snow season, We attempted it over labor day one year, and Gannett was all ice with monster cravasses Went back in June, and it was a cruiser on the snow. Wells and tourist creek are shorter, but very demanding, and remote. Very few Colorado 14ers come close to the demands of Gannett. That said The wind rivers, are awesome!! Just packing in to titcomb basin, or hiking in from Green river lakes is worth a trip to the winds!!!!joelsteidl wrote:Gannett is a beast of a mountain. The backpacking alone is 50 miles RT. It is very beautiful though. If you camp on Bonny Pass before the summit attempt, you actually drop 1,000 ft elevation on summit day before you start heading up the mountain.
All that said, it is a serious undertaking, but very rewarding.
