Bet that bastard is chock full of bpa. That stuff turns men into women, doesn't it? Turns women into ugly women too. Terrible stuff...
Hmm perhaps... I think it is from shortly after all the BPA stuff came to light so I think I am safe. Happen to be from the home of Naglene and did a couple of research projects on/with the company during school so I believe I did my due diligence back then. I will keep you updated on the growth of my breasts...

I only put water in mine, too hard to clean. If you want to use a mixed drink, I just keep a disposable plastic bottle with all the air compressed out. Then I just put the mix in and fill it from my bladder. Much better system over all. I like to have clean, fresh water with the option.

I agree with many of the previous posts. I stick to just water in my CamelBak and put any supplement in a bottle, then run it through the dishwasher after the hike.

If you want to put something other than clean water in your bladder, it's worth investing in a second one. I have a designated bladder for mimosas to prevent developing a flavor in my good bladders.

Once when I was a noob I put lemonade in my camelbak. Oh man was it super tasty, but that camelbak was ruined forever. Don't put anything that will feed mold in your camelbak....ever.

I use Platypus bags, not Camelbak, and only put in water

These things are awesome. No nasty taste, dirt cheap, but fits in the same hydration pouch in the backpack that a Camelbak would. Just carry a bottle and refill the bottle with the Platypus.

I 3rd this! After a half a dozen uses with the Camelbak, I switched. No plastic taste with the Platypus!

Agree with Bill, I too have been using bladders (vs Nalgenes or [shudder] a Camelback) for years. Way, way lighter than Nalgenes, more space efficient. But if one is on the market, check out Evernew bladders. Same concept as a Platypus, but with an attached cap. I was on the market to get some more for desert stuff, and the attached caps caught my eye; I got tired of dropping the Platypus caps between rocks, etc. Or maybe I just have fumble fingers.
