Anyone been up Pikes lately and gotten a peek at the East Face? How's that cornice looking post storm? From those who have skied it, is April too early for a descent?

Upslope delivered. Anyone interested in skiing some of the Sangre peaks?

Hit 13er Homestake north face from the hut today. Sweet powder turns from ~12.7 to about 12ft. Everything else including east ridge was breakable crust/sastrugi/isothermal slush

I’d offer to go with but I’m recovering from a MTB injury and 6 months of no activity so I’m super slow and wouldn’t be a good partner for any one that’s even reasonably fit.

We did Willoughby Mt in Aspen yesterday, great coverage up high. Snow was really sticky, so it was not as fast it would have been. Still a great day out. Pictures and route are here in the link:

Wall to wall snow will be falling in every range in Colorado except the Sangres this weekend. Forecasts are in pretty good agreement for 20+ inches above 10-11,000 feet. So coverage should improve for awhile starting next week.
