Good luck, that's an incredible goal! Looking forward to following along.

Thanks for posting your lighterpack and food data too. While I don't do anything close to your level of objectives, I can still glean knowledge of how to decrease my base weight as well as improving nutrition.

I see you are bringing a NiteCore 20 AH power pack. I'm curious if you have ever tried portable solar panels like the Lixada on your pack for longer objectives to trickle charge the power pack. I can definitely see why you wouldn't want to fiddle with that kind of solution when setting an FKT though. Makes more sense for thruhikers.

If you really cared about ultralight you'd shave all hair and skip the comb. Or use the toothbrush as both!

Interesting to see the food list. Half the calories being from protein powder is a super efficient way to get macros, not something I've ever tried. I also haven't tried to do the CO trail in 10 days, so....

Best of luck! Looking forward to seeing the results!

Justin, not sure if you'll see this before you set off but think about throwing in some duct tape around your toothbrush (or similar). I used the same poles. The cinching securement system broke and they subsequently failed at the joints about 2/3 of the way through the effort.

Having done the CT twice (normal person times) I second having some duct tape (gorilla tape is better). I've used it for myself and helping others to fix a cracked hip belt buckle, damaged hiking poles, protect blisters, rip in a down bag, etc... I put a few feet around both hiking poles.

Good luck Justin I’ll be following for sure. I think the Map Share link posted on the FKT site is wrong. In your post in this thread you posted: https://share.garmin.com/longranger

The FKT site has: https://share.garmin.com/longrangerjustin

When you click on the latter you get a dead link.

He’s moving really well. Not quite apples to apples since Justin has done almost nothing but climbing since 2a. But it looks like he hit Indian Ridge in about 10hrs. I finished from there in 7.5 hrs. He has climbed from ~7k to ~12k. After Indian Trail Ridge it’s a long flat ridge over to Blackhawk Pass.
