Riiiiiight...... I think this "camillo" fellow is pulling your leg. Nobody has summitted K2 three times. As near as I can tell only two people have summited twice: SHERAP JANGBU (2000, 2001) and Josef RAKONCAJ (1983, 1986).

maybe he said twice, i could be wrong, but i am not wrong about the fact that he is an amazing climber.

he is gearing up to do everest next spring.

and he did give us a super expensive tent...again i CLEARLY stated i don't the detailed specs about it but my boyfriend is neither a liar or an exaggerator so i know it's an amazing tent that we could NEVER afford.

camillo gets all of his equipment pro-form.

don't insult the great camillo....it WILL come back to haunt you on the mountain.

Jones Pass and Butler Gulch near the Henderson mine on Hwy 40 below Berthoud Pass is a good sugestion for overnighting. Noone will bother you there. Don't get into the habit of trying to park in the ski area lots though. The plow drivers don't apreciate overnight visitors, and they have been known to plow cars in DEEP. Make friends with some locals, and you'll find a place to camp on a more permanant basis pretty quickly when they hear that you are living in your vehicle.

One other thing, invest in some tire chains. We often get big dumps at night, and if you're parked someplace that isn't on the plow schedule (like Jones Pass / Butler Gulch) you'll be stuck without chains. Then you have to hitch hike to the ski area for first tracks. :D
Where ever you are... There you are.

kimmarielovescolorado wrote:if you have the right equipment you can do it. a good friend of my boyfriend and mine, camillo, he's climbed K2 3 times and my boyfriend is working on a website for him...he payed my boyfriend with a tent that costs like 3,000$ or around there, it's ridiculous, it can handle like sub zero temps and seriously high winds.
Sweet, does it look like this tent? I could live in that thing easily. It's bigger than my first apartment.

now i win...

i am sorry about the america comment, but i just really don't understand why you people would think i am lieing and making things up for no reason. do you need to pick on someone at least once a day on this site?

camillo is my friend i have sat around camp fires with him listening to his amazing stories about all of the peaks he's climbed. why would i lie?

do you feel threatened by anyone whose accomplished something greater than yourself>?
