Be sure to state inclusive on the 14,000' and exclusive on the 15,000'. [14,000', 15,000'). A 14,999.999...' is still a 14er. That might be a good multiple choice trick!

Roy Moore has done several 14ers.

Oh, and where is Manhatten?
1) Roy Moore is an asshat who climbs with Paul Ryan. if we're lucky, there will be a horrible fall while they are off-route on the north ridge of Democrat, this winter, after it snows a lot.

2) Manhattan is in Kansass. It is unremarkable, as is much (most) of Kansass. Boulevard is good beer. Other than that, I don't know anything there worth commenting upon.

Sorry, I couldn't answer with T or F.

Somebody please go and correct Wikipedia because they don't think so:

But at least they are right on Colorado fourteeners page, not listing Colorado peaks 15k and higher \:D/ :

When I teach inequalities, I always use the [14,000, 15,000) interval to describe a 14er and other intervals to describe shorter or taller points...like 13er, 12er, 15er, etc.

So we are debating one marginal foot and use of brackets, but it is OK that Wikipedia claims Denali is a fourteener (like Fourteeners E [Sunshine, Denali])?

I am definitely not debating some stuffy mountaineer definition of a 14er. I do not have the authority to change it, but I can certainly frown at it. I will stand corrected if you like. Should I edit my original post for you?

Speaking on how I use 14ers in my math classroom. It just isn't as fun to say Elbert is the tallest Colorado 13er, 12er, etc. It is fun to ask what is not a 14er for example...mountain students connect with mountains so teaching inequalities with "and" and "or" is so much easier if I can make those connections. We can talk about the limitations of measurement. The problems/conversations lead us to domains and ranges and asymptotes and limits and infinitely big and infinitely small! ...all because of 14ers and other peaks surrounding Lake County.

 That certainly won't be the last time it happens. But in my defense, I rarely have to look for subtlety in one of the cow's posts.

I think it's funny how riled up people get at the mere mention of highway 70. As soon as it comes up, everyone starts acting like old men sitting on a park bench, bitching that the pigeons are shitting on them.

(And the reason there are so many pigeons to s**t on them is that they are throwing them the crust from their bologna sandwich.)

I like hitting the gas to catch up to the next truck in the right lane, then slowing down next to him to box you in

Don't forget about the drag race that is Floyd Hill! I love that second corner, it really separates the pros from the newbies.
I like how when there is no truck in the right lane going up that hill that it will ALWAYS be empty. You can pass dozens of cars on the right... 8)

Please see info regarding passing lane above.

A compass? Or '80s scout experiences?
