Oh he joined just to make this post. He obviously has an axe to grind for some reason and doesn't care that it's been discussed here ad nauseum, nor that his points have already been made more effectively than with his strained analogy about breaking into houses to have dinner.dpage wrote:

Yes.
I was looking for information on whether the summit of Mount Bross was closed to the public. This thread is an early hit for a Google search on "Mount Bross access." The OP asks for a "clear answer." I didn't see one in the thread, but maybe I missed it. For me, at least, a lot of readers could run through this thread and conclude there is no clear answer about whether or not Mount Bross is closed to the public.
Hunh....I am not aware what axe it is I'm grinding.mtn_hound wrote:He obviously has an axe to grind for some reason and doesn't care that it's been discussed here ad nauseum, nor that his points have already been made more effectively than with his strained analogy about breaking into houses to have dinner.
My observation for discussion boards in general is that those without a substantive reply are inclined to attempt to belittle others into silence. For them, "discussion" is over once they decide it's over, and perhaps especially so if any additional input is at odds with their position.
As to the "strained analogy," I remain unclear how anything but altitude separates Mount Bross from any other piece of property not opened to the public by its owners. What is different about it as a fourteener is not that it is private property. What is different is that it is private property the owners of which have not granted public access.
An earlier link in the thread reiterates a concern from CFI, CMC and others to "Please Respect the Closure"
http://www.14ers.org/peaks/mosquito-range/mount-bross/
I was surprised how little support there was in this thread for that position.
I suggest much of the "discussion" within this thread clouds what should be a simple and straightforward answer to the OP. As I mentioned in my first post, there may be opinions about whether Mount Bross should be closed, but at a bare minimum, should not the thread contain a clear and concise answer to the OP?
