Keeping a broad, flexible list of goals that includes but is not limited to the following:

1. Have some great adventures in the mountains!
2. Chip away at and maybe even finish lap 2 of the 14ers (10 more to go)
3. Get more 14er snowflakes (including Crestone Needle)
4. Get a snowflake for Capitol (this encompasses all 3 goals above)
5. Continue to level up my winter climbing skills (encompasses all 4 goals above)
6. Do more 13ers of any flavor in any season
7. Try to finish fleshing out the West Ridge Indirect route up Little Bear
8. Keep filling in calendar grid slots (esp. Longs, Grays/Torreys, Bierstadt)
9. Try to be less of a hermit hiker (~60% solo hikes in 2024; try to drop below 50%)

I am not a skier, but it seems to me like one of the hardest parts of skiing a 7000m peak might just be getting to the peak, then getting to the top.
I feel like I know you well enough from previous posts to guess you aren't going to be dropped from a helicopter at the summit.

Hey Peculiar, they probably do drone drops now.

Good luck, Cotton!

Going to try to be a be less specific with goals this year haha. Maybe I'll get more checked off.

- 100 new (to me) summits in 2025.
- Continue to work on climbing a summit/State HP in all 50 states- currently 10/50.
- Continue to work on my Colorado county HP list- currently 32/64.

^ Same here! For the last 2 years, I've stated my goals on these threads and most don't happen...apparently I suck...lol
2025 looks promising to keep me in the Colorado Springs area for most of the year for work starting in April. (The Broadmoor golf renovations...2-3 year project!)

My hopes for 2025...

- get on ice more often than last winter
-- if you're reading this and you're in the Co Springs area, hit me up if you want to partner up -- I need more local climbing partners (I'm solid on WI4 but that's TR'ing in ice parks -- haven't been on backcountry ice in a longgg time)

- maybe a peak or two, 13er or 14er, in winter
-- I'm usually not big on getting winter ascents, but to keep up some above treeline fitness would go a long way for spring fitness getting up peaks

- more ascents on incline
-- I only had 31 ascents last year

- climb rock more often
-- I started getting weekly climbs outside starting in November of '24 so I want to keep that going when weather/dry conditions allow -- and continue to lead within my comfort range of [sport] .7 and some .8s depending on crag (I've been out of rock climbing condition for many years)
--- like mentioned above, if you're local to the 719, and you want a partner or willing to take on another, hit me up. Preferably "same" skill sets/age range (I'm 51). I'm not looking to get up .10s and above, but want to get better/stronger in the 5.fun range of .6 - .7 - .8s

- spring snow climbs
-- nothing in particular, maybe a snow climb of Potosi?

- get a few bicentennials (Bakers Dozen to complete the list)
-- I need a few backpacks to finish, so maybe at least one of them, preferably Vestal Basin for Trinities
--- similar to above, partners (new and old) welcome, let me know

- more 13ers
-- this is a perennial easy target goal...lol

- meet new partners, male or female, and build on those partnerships for some good times in the mountains.

- hike/climb with existing partners and friends and enjoy the company and the good times!

Good luck and Happy New Year, everyone!

Goals 2025
It's good to have goals and I've heard writing them down helps too.

- 4+ Winter 13r/14r ascents hopefully 2 new to me 14rs.

- 2 snow climbs. Both "Grand Central" on Sayres and the "Y" on Pikes are specific goals that are calling my soul, but I'm open to possibilities and have a feeling there'll be some.

- get up and out as often as I did last summer. Keep going for new 14rs but not missing chances at worthwhile stuff with others and enjoying the journey.

- a great traverse probably Diente/Wilson

- bring my friend Broanne up Longs (such an inspiring hike/climb), something epic with my bro, more nights out=more campfire spam Mac n cheese and Kool-Aid, make more mountain friends and memories

I have not really been putting up any climbing goals lately, took a break from lists and even planning in general. Been lots of local repeats and hiking with friends.

I do have a few things I am not too far away from finishing if I did decide to go after lists.

Highest 700 - need about 12 peaks to finish.

Various Wilderness Areas - Mount Evans, Lizard Head, Vasquez and Byers Peak are all ones I only have like 2 or 3 peaks to finish.

Various Counties - Alamosa would need 3, Chaffee and Clear Creek each 5, but private land issues, and San Juan would need 10.

Just generally getting out a bunch otherwise, ski some couloirs in the spring as usual, repeat some Gore scrambles and just general repeats and hiking with friends!

Possible international trip, I have friends going to Morocco so maybe Jebel Toubkal (13,671 Atlas Mtns)

"You are not what you own" - Fugazi
"Life's a mountain not a beach" - Fortune Cookie I got at lunch the other day

While my interests have moved in many different directions of late, I do have a busy 2025 planned...

Hayduke route starting mid April
Bicycle ride across the USA starting early to mid June
Several medium to longer backpack trips-Wind River High Route, L2H, Ruby Crest trail, CT, and at least a handful of 13er's. Ambitious year but I've moved into the "not working anymore" chapter of my life so I'm going full throttle. About 1200 miles of backpacking and 4200 mile bicycle ride.

I'm currently in AZ enjoying rock climbing and bicycle riding and motorcycle riding and lots of hiking and backpacking.
