Ha! Yeah, the clouds were giving some signs (mmackerel sky), and weather reports were coming in. I was hoping even with asthma, I could just switch to normal Tour Mode and maybe just walk into Salida via the CT to the Rainbow Trail or some other connector, but knew that trying to do the highpoint of the CT and then Snow Mesa/Saint Luis Pass was a bad idea with this weather report, a health issue, a heavy pack, and tired legs. Disasters happen from a compounding series of small mistakes, and I already was 2-3 steps into that lineage. So, the bail down Lake City made sense. Even with asthma this weather would have made an FKT real hard. Brr!
