Info: There is a little bit of snow and ice towards top above 13700 or so, probably will change this weekend with weather coming. Overall not too complicated route finding. Knife edge was not complicated, can staddle or hold one side. We climbed over top of white rocks after knife edge due to snow down lower. 14ers.com route info was helpful.

Route: South Slopes

Info: Trail is in very good condition after years of cfi maintenance. Still some nice wildflowers in the basin below treeline tho we're obviously past the peak of the season. More importantly, we started heading home a little before noon and saw the Clear Creek sheriff ticketing every car that was parked on the road below the actual trailhead parking lot. I dunno what those tix cost but if you don't wanna find out then don't park on the road.

Info: Thursday Lot full at 450 am. Lots and lots of folks out today. even on a weekday. Road going up is tough, plan on taking it slower. There are some dips an jutting rocks. I drive a honda pilot and it made it fine. Plan about 15-20 minutes to drive the 3 miles from lower to upper lot and remember no parking along the road side. Dogs are allowed but need to be LEASHED!!! omg folks. Not everyone thinks your dog is cute and wants them running up to them. Nor do the wildlife want to be chased or eaten by your dog. Leash em up or dont bring them. period. Also please dont leave your dog poop backs by the trail side. Seriously this is delicate terrain pack it with you. There are bathrooms at the trailhead. a trash bag hanging in the bathroom, but you should really just plan on packing your trash out. Trail is dry. Summer conditions. Saw mountain goats, pica and marmot out today. Also still lots of flowers. Really pretty views. Thankfully air quality was not horrible today even with the canadian fires going on. Did not find any geo markers on either peak and please take your signs with you if you make them! Dont just leave them up there to blow away or wreck the nature we are all coming to see. Lastly uphill has the right of way. So please step aside and follow proper trail etiquette if you are going to recreate outdoors.

Info: Great conditions - small snow patch laying on the established route just before dead dog couloir. Makes rock a bit slippery if it isn't avoided.

Info: Kelso Ridge in great conditions, totally dry except for one very small snow patch just below the knife edge, which is easily stepped over without touching it. The dirt gullies on the actual "trail" are getting fairly loose, so do recommend mostly staying to rock whenever possible. Still some snow left in Dead Dog, and surprisingly quite a lot in the next couloir over (sorry, don't know the name if someone else does)

Route: South Slopes

Info: The vast majority of the trail is in summer conditions. A small section of snow covers the trail just below the traverse from Grays Peak. I brought my microspikes in case, but didnt break them out for the snow patch. Its easy enough to navigate without them.

Route: Dead Dog Couloir
Posted On: 6/26/2024, By: gusbatcho
Info: Dead Dog is still continuous, potentially from the summit although I dropped in from the knifes edge saddle. Lots of rocks, suncups, and a big runnel but once soft enough it skis well enough. I dropped in at 8:00am. However there is supposed to be rain this week which could melt it quick! Full video from ascent/descent. https://youtu.be/q4ITxGknHbI?si=XjJm07ImYPhnbygD

Info: As others have said, route is clear of snow and good to go. Pretty much summer conditions. Definitely the best route up torreys to bypass the crowds. Dead dog starting to thin out but saw a group of 2 getting ready to ski it today. Parking lot was full at 4am. Had to start at the bottom. 5 hours 34 minutes round trip from I-70 and back to the upper trailhead. Hitched a nice ride back down to the lower trailhead

Route: West Ridge
Posted On: 6/22/2024, By: JonW
Info: Descended the West Ridge today. Snow was a non factor and the route is in summer conditions. There's a large snow field on the ridge heading up Grizzly from Torreys but it was easily avoided.
