12/7/2024 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 12/7/2024, By: Skimo95 Info: Could you hike quandary in a summer fit today, sure, would it be a good idea.. probably not! I enjoyed gaiters up to the final ridge push before using micro spikes. Shoutout to the Asian American deaf gentleman I was able to push with to summit, youre tougher then Ill ever be man. Cheers P.S crappy skiing from summit is there but I dont have interest in something of that quality |

12/6/2024 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 12/6/2024, By: coneydogron Info: Brought snowshoes but didn't need them, wore micro spikes from the parking lot all the way up and back down which helped a lot. Did the same thing as the last person on the way down by wandering onto a less packed trail and post holed a little. But other than that everything was well packed in. Weather was great today, almost no wind at all |

12/3/2024 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 12/3/2024, By: nilaoire Info: The plan was to go to 13200 ft on Quandary, so trail conditions up to that point - the end of the ridge. Anyhoo, post holed only twice, one foot each time on the way up as the trail I chose was packed. I wandered onto a less well packed trail on the way down, below 12100ft and post holed for about 6 steps until I rejoined my up track. Brought snowshoes and spikes, didn't use them, didn't need them. Winds about 5miles/ hr on the ridge, amazing. |

12/1/2024 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 12/1/2024, By: RockyMtRachel Info: Still a nice trough up to tree line. Snowshoes are a must after that. I sadly left mine in the car. Sank down thigh deep after tree line, so I turned around. I believe I was on the winter route going off to the right. It was a gorgeous day, light wind, and loads of sunshine. |

11/24/2024 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 11/24/2024, By: NoRubicon Info: Was a beautiful day. Trough is well developed all the way until you break out of the tree line. Didn't feel the need for micro spikes the entire way up but some may feel better with them. Did use micro spikes on the way down. Some postholing around 12,000 feet, but the snow firms up. |

11/22/2024 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 11/23/2024, By: SanJuanShaun Info: Beautiful day, wasn't too cold, probably 25 or so on the summit. I didn't use or need microspikes at all on the way up. I did wear them on the way down for the upper thousand feet or so. The snow was very firm. There were a few moments of postholing on the way up but nothing too bad. It was a bit windy on the summit. Perfect late autumn day. |

11/10/2024 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 11/10/2024, By: sheller Info: Quite a bit of snow up there. Brought snowshoes and micro spikes. Didnt feel the need to use the snowshoes. Micro spikes were helpful going down. Handful of places had some postholing, but wasnt too bad. There was a nice boot track up the mountain- thanks to the groups hiking this morning. |

10/27/2024 Route: West Ridge Posted On: 10/28/2024, By: 14er101 Info: Echoing what was said from the winter welcomers, Just enough snow to make things a bit more difficult, having an ax was nice just incase, microspikes were more than enough and could have gotten by without them. The cruxes themselves were effectively dry. I went down Cristo, which was still dry, and actually enjoyed it. This will definitely change after the next storm. |

10/27/2024 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 10/29/2024, By: EBN24 Info: This was our first time on a 14er! The conditions were great - sunny day - and very little snow at the peak. A few icy patches and I can see how shoe spikes would have been helpful. We were surprised by the amount and scale of talus, but we had not researched just how 'bumpy' the hike would be. A great hike and met some wonderful people along the way! |

10/23/2024 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 10/24/2024, By: Mark Goldstein Info: Lower trail bone dry, despite snow this past Monday. Upper trailhead some avoidable snow patches. Some areas icy, but manageable with micro spikes. Beautiful sunny day with light winds. Get it while you can (almost summer like conditions). Enjoy |

Windy and crisp at the top. A few flurries on the way down. A few goats on the trail which is normal and awesome!! Couldn't have asked for a better day! |

10/4/2024 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 10/4/2024, By: Krispy Info: Couldn't have had a nicer morning for a hike, and the trail was in great condition. Got a 5:45am start with only a couple cars in the lot, but passed a ton of folks on the way down. Back to car at 10:15 and lot was almost full. |

9/28/2024 Route: West Ridge Posted On: 9/28/2024, By: vusteph Info: Climbed up west ridge and down cristo on 9/28. Some of the class 3 sections had snow and ice (see pic) so made it a little more spicy than expecting. Glad to have done cristo down once....but never again lol. |
