Route: East face ski descent
Posted On: 4/29/2024, By: SnowAlien
Info: Skinned up to the Triangle pass until it got steep and rocky, then transitioned to booting. Remembered the NW ridge being steep and loose, and it still was. Glad to have my crampons on for steep dirt (but that's how aluminum crampons get downgraded to microspikes eventually). Once on top of the corniced ridge, got out my ice ax, as the last bit before the summit is surprisingly steep. I was initially planned to ski the NW slopes, but upon seeing the East face, I was sold - it looked very nice. Transitioned on the flat(tish) summit and dropped the face around 11am. Didn't even realize it at the time, but kicked off a small slide with the upper turn, as the snow was getting warm in direct sunlight. Skied towards Coffeepot pass, then around to the base of UN 13,173 on the north side. Peak 2/3 of the day

Route: Triangle->Hunter loop via Conundrum Hot Springs
Posted On: 8/31/2023, By: JasonKline
Info: From the Conundrum Hot Springs campsites, we did the Triangle Pass->Triangle->13216->13537->Hilliard->Keefe->Hunter loop. Still summer conditions. That was a long day (over 15 hours, something like 18 miles, plenty of vert, and a lot of slow, tedious ridgework) for a mere mortal like me. It's a long way from Keefe to Hunter, so I can definitely understand why many people do Hunter separately and I would probably do the same if I were to do it again. Also, when you descend the east ridge of Hunter, you receive a particularly nasty willow bushwhack as your reward before you reach the gorgeous trail back to the Conundrum Hot Springs.

Route: Northwest Ridge via Copper Creek Trail
Posted On: 7/6/2023, By: supranihilest
Info: From Judd Falls trailhead take the long Copper Creek trail towards Triangle Pass. There are five unavoidable creek fords you must make. I didn't bother taking off footwear and just resigned myself to having wet feet all day. A mile or so before the pass I dropped off the trail towards some rolling grass ribs that link together towards the northwest ridge of "Triangle Peak". There's a small lake here for reference. The ridge itself is steep and fairly loose with some Class 2+ but not that bad overall. It looked like it would be possible to drop off the summit to Coffeepot Pass but I just went back down the ridge and made a direct line below the north face to Triangle Pass, which consisted of some snow crossings and some loose rock. When returning from this peak and Point 13,216 I took this route back to the trail as well - there were some large and steep snow fields still across the trail from the pass that I wanted to avoid, and I was able to heel ski down several hundred feet of snow to the lake, with the minor cost of only 50 feet of regain back to the trail.
