Info: Did Cupid, Grizzly and Sniktau. The trail is well packed and as some other report rightfully noted, cornices are easily avoidable. Used microspikes the whole day, no need for snowshoes. The wind between Cupid and Grizzly was horrible (almost to the point of knocking off feet), but tolerable on Sniktau. Was very happy to have poles.

Info: Good snow conditions today, spring is ready to pop! Mostly dry up to the first little peak before Cupid, then most of the route has a bit of snow and rock. Did not use microspikes at all the whole day, though they would've helped in a few places. The final ridge going up Torreys has this strange little chute filled with snow that would've been great/safe to ski though perhaps not worth dragging the skis all the way along the ridge for. The snow on top was somewhat wet by around 10 am with a hard slab underneath. Gaiters are highly recommended right now for this route. Lots of lines on neighboring peak look like they might go wonderfully in spring with a safer snowpack. The north slopes of grays was completely dry except for the north slopes route trail switchbacking up the face, which looked to have enough snow on it that it could be skied, even all the way to the summit possibly.

Info: Passed on way to Torreys and Grays. No traction or flotation needed. Typical slippery dry powder on the ascent up Grizzly, but not deep enough for spikes.

Info: Did not use flotation or traction. Inversion all the way to summit made for fantastic views. Cornices don't really intersect the route and any that get close are easily avoidable. No wind today and temp was so warm that we stripped down to base layers to descend. Slide activity on NE aspect of Cupid. Route to G & T looked good.

Info: There will be many cars already there by 6:30 a.m. If you wait until later in the day, the parking area on both sides of the pass are full. So hike early means potential a bit colder to start, versus waiting to see if there is a parking space. Also good picture of where to turn right off the route to top of Point 12,915. This spur cuts down the elevation gain on the route to Cupid and Grizzly.

Info: I climbed Torrey's and Gray's from Grizzly today and the climb to Grizzly was a breeze for most of it. Almost summer conditions everywhere and any snow I encountered was avoidable or solid enough to walk on with maybe only 1 or 2 post holes this whole route. Got into the lot at 5:30 am and there were 5 other cars before me, weather was great. Didn't need traction at all for the whole journey, took about 2 hours to summit Grizzly and got back to Grizzly at about 10:45am and back to my car at 12:05. I took the shortcut from Cupid back to Loveland pass to avoid regaining a bit of altitude and that trail was the most snow I had to cross the whole time, I'd recommend traction if you try to take this shortcut early while the snow is still solid. I was able to kick steps on the way back so it wasn't sketchy but if it was a hard freeze it might be a little more sketch. If you stick to the standard route you will be fine tho! Have fun

Info: Trail is snow-free from the trailhead to Cupid and the top of Point 12936 to the summit of Grizzly. There are a handful of snowfields between Cupid and Point 12936. One is covering the spot where the trail descends off the ridge to avoid the rock outcropping below Cupid. We ended up descending into the rocks, then downclimbing on talus back to the trail. On our return the snowfield was fairly soft so we chose to boulder over the rock outcropping instead.

Info: Route is easy to follow and no traction needed -- however, the large cornice coming off Cupid to Grizzly is collapsing. I recommend the scramble on the middle of the slope going to the base of Grizzly -- lots of fun chances for Class 3 on stable rock and avoids postholing on a cornice. Pretty mountain! PS: Route to Torreys goes.

Info: 95% of weekend snow melted from Loveland Pass to Cupid and Pt 12,936; 80% melted from Pt 12,936 to summit of Grizzly. No traction needed.

Info: Road clear to trailhead. Trail up to initial saddle has a bit of snow but it is melting. Trail over to cupid dry, down cupid has a bit of snow but all avoidable and didn't need traction in the morning. Trail up to grizzly peak is free of snow. Not sure what the weekend snowstorm did to it, though.

Info: Summer conditions or very near to them. Felt comfortable in trail running shoes with no additional traction. A few short snow crossings that were nearly melted or had a solid bootpack. Stayed to the right right on the ridge to Grizzly to avoid walking too near to the cornice. Started around 7 am and returned to car before 11.

Info: Did a sunrise hike of Sniktau, Cupid, And Grizzly Peak D. Mostly summer conditions minus a few snow patches to cross, definitely want to do it earlier than later to ensure some nice snow pack. Got to trailhead 5:10 and made my up to the ridge just in time to see the sunrise. I headed up to Sniktau and made great time just with boots and poles. Headed back down to the ridge and caught Cupid no problem but put spikes on shortly after. (Used them for Grizzly and back to Cupid.) The first 2 were a piece of cake but gets a bit more difficult from there. Grizzly is straight up hill and has some loose rock but a very rewarding class 2 hike. Overall great hike with phenomenal views of surroundings 14ers, Loveland Pass, and beautiful sunrise.

Info: Great day out. Clear weather from 0550 to 1200. Constant wind and gusts at 25mph. Grizzly was steady at 30mph average. Wind scoured at the usual spots. Great big cornices in view but easily avoidable. 95% of the snow was stable without post-holing if you choose to walk off the rocks. No snowshoes required. Micro spikes useful but not necessary either.
