Info: Hiked Santa Fe - Sullivan - Geneva on 7/13. I was able to drive to the old mine around 11.9K in a stock 4Runner with off road tires. An absolutely beautiful route, all class 1/2, and only ran into two people all day. Full report here: https://www.coloradomountainpack.com/post/santa-fe-peak-sullivan-mountain-geneva-peak

Route: up SW ridge, down CDT/Webster Pass
Posted On: 7/4/2024, By: mijoflynn
Info: I orphaned Geneva and Landslide last month. I wanted to tag them without reclimbing Santa Fe and Sullivan, so I did a variation of WildWanderer's route from 2021, with a couple of differences: the Webster Pass road is open, so I was able to start further south; and I went directly up Geneva's SW ridge, instead of the gully between Geneva and Landslide. I parked where the Webster Pass road crosses the Snake River -- it's rough 4WD to get there, and the water is currently 12-18" deep at the crossing. (The rest of the road is clear all the way up, though there's an impassible snowfield as soon as it crosses to the south side of the pass -- pic 1). I headed south for half a mile, hugging the trees to avoid the wetlands by the river (pic 2), then did a very pleasant bushwhack southeast through the forest (which is relatively open, with relatively little deadfall -- pic 3). Once I hit treeline, I went straight up Geneva's southwest ridge -- ~1750 feet in a mile, but almost all on grass (pic 4). The hike from there, over to Landslide (pic 5) and then down the CDT (pic 6) to Webster Pass, is a breeze. There are patches of snow sticking around on the south side of Geneva and in the saddle, but all are totally avoidable. This isn't a terribly common route, so I'll put my GPX in the library in case anyone ever wants to use it.

Info: Summer conditions! Followed the climb13ers route up to Geneva and Landslide then on the ridge over to Sullivan and Santa Fe. Headed down a steep rib off Santa Fe to connect with where we parked off of the Webster Pass road. Great views all around.

Info: Did the Montezumas revenge circuit. Parked at Deer Creek parking to avoid having to climb back up Santa Fe peak road at the end. Very straightforward and beautiful!

Route: West Gully
Posted On: 5/5/2023, By: 9patrickmurphy
Info: Skied the West Gully on Geneva this morning, it was a super quick and easy day. The Webster Pass road is plowed up to the Bullion Mine turnoff, but there are "no parking" signs absolutely everywhere, so that's a no-go. There is a large parking area South of the Webster Pass turnoff on Montezuma Road just before the bridge that crosses Deer Creek. From there I went up a road that said "no trespassing" (despite being firmly on public land as far as I can tell) and then continued on snow through the trees until I intersected the unplowed section of Webster Pass road. There were some blazes on the trees so I may have been on some sort of trail? Continuous snow up to 13,000', then some billy goating on the ridge to reach the summit. If you are crazy I guess you could keep your skis on from the summit, but I am not so I skied from the continuous snow. The NE chutes look in, and super steep. Someone go get em. The West Gully was kinda fun. Easy snow climb with some steep options, a fine ski and then some bushwacking to get back to the road. I was able to skate and double-pole my way all the way back to the dry road 1/4 mile from my car. I figured some people might want photos of the surrounding area, so here they are. South face of Ruby looks super good. Santa Fe also looks like it has some options for a ski from the summit. 1. a steep part of the climb 2. an overview of the upper section I skied. West Gully is just tucked away between the sun and shadow 3. looking towards Santa Fe and Sullivan 4. the money shot 5. looking towards Grays & Torreys, Argentine Pass 6. one of Geneva's NE chutes

Route: via Sullivan Mountain
Posted On: 10/8/2022, By: LetsGoMets
Info: Did Tiptop Peak, Morgan Peak, Santa Fe, Sullivan, Geneva. Geneva has a few patches of snow on the route up, but mostly avoidable. No problems in trail runners, brought spikes, didn't use.

Route: From Montezuma

Info: Parked at 10,400' right after the first turn on CR 264. There's room for about 3 maybe 4 cars there. Overall the hike is pretty straight forward making quick work up the road to below Santa Fe. Nice ridgeline walking all the way to Webster Pass since it is all CDT. I could've cut down right after Landslide but I had time, good weather, and wanted 13,205. Between Geneva and Landslide is less than 100' while there is about 200' between Landslide and 13,205' (almost the same height as Landslide) so it actually feels like another peak. After getting to Webster Pass it was 5.5 miles of road walking back to to the car. Got passed by probably 20-25 vehicles before I got back to the car. (14.65 mi; 4,012' gain; 6:00:14 total time) Start at TH 5:45am; Santa Fe Peak 7:45am; Sullivan Mountain 8:10am; Geneva Peak 8:45am; Landslide Peak 9:05am; 13,205 9:35am; Back to TH 11:45am

Route: Geneva Creek Rd

Info: Walked up Geneva Creek road to the end near the Sill Mine. From there headed up a grassy slope to the north of the low saddle north of Santa Fe Peak. This worked well. Looked like heading up to the ridge further to the south of Santa Fe would also work well as there is long stretches of grass. A lot of the terrain to the ridge looks very loose, but there are more grassy options. Ran the ridge over to Landslide. Stretches of trail here and there. Pretty straightforward. Dropped back down into the basin just north of the Landslide summit. Descended grassy slopes (very steep) toward Josephine Lake. Found an old 4x4 road that dropped down to the Iron Fens and took that back to the Geneva Ck Rd.

Route: Northwest ridge

Info: Summer conditions, save for a lingering patch of snow near the summit and a dusting of fresh snow in a few spots. I think more may be on the way.

Info: Near summer conditions from Sullivan, firm snowfield on the summit, and towards Landslide Peak.

Route: From Sullivan/Santa Fe
Posted On: 10/11/2020, By: madmattd
Info: Hit-or-miss trail segments from Sullivan to col with Geneva; a couple cairns help find the established way. Easy to follow trail from col to Geneva's summit, with a couple branching options on the ridge that all seem tog et the job done. Did not continue to Landslide but looked simple.

Route: North Ridge
Posted On: 3/6/2020, By: dereks95
Info: The north ridge from Santa Fe was in great shape. We walked the ridge from Sante Fe to Landslide and back (crossing over Sullivan and Geneva on the way). Mostly dry with patches of hard, wind-blow snow. We brought micro-spikes but didn't use them. Left our snowshoes at Morgan Pass as we clearly would not be needing them. Cornices on the east side were easily avoidable. Looked like some good skiing down below on the north side of Santa Fe (next time I'll bring my skis).

Info: Summer conditions, mostly dry. SE shoulder has some snow, but it was mostly solid when I crossed. Should be gone in a few weeks.
