Route: North ridge from Hagar
Posted On: 12/17/2017, By: Marmot72
Info: Ridge is windswept and more bare than not. Dry Gulch basin full of unconsolidated snow below thin breakable crust, as is the basin to the south that borders Loveland ski area.

Route: North ridge

Info: Put in a snowshoe trench to treeline. From there it's doubtful anyone could see it since it was filled within about a minute after we left it. Trenched to a safe zone just below Hagar's E/SE face and decided against an ascent due to wind loading. Headed to Golden Bear via mellow north facing slopes. Probably 12 inches of new soft snow and more in some places, particularly above 12k. Trench was in good shape below treeline on the descent. We preserved ski tracks when possible.

Route: North Ridge

Info: There are thin patches of snow above treeline with many dry areas. The North Ridge up to the summit has nearly continuous snow, 3-4 inches deep.

Route: South Ridge via Chair 4
Posted On: 6/13/2016, By: Tony1
Info: The ridge and the base of the ski area are almost completely snow-free. The hike up through the ski area still holds plenty of snow beneath the lift and between the top of the lift and the ridge, but the snowfields are large and only "punchy" near the edges. I took snowshoes and spikes but didn't use them. Gaiters were mandatory and poles were helpful.

Route: Standard + Traverse to Hagar Mtn

Info: Good, prime conditions for this route and reaching the top of the peak. Variable, definitely still a lot of snow around. There are many high-quality mountaineering lines that are in. Make a trip up and enjoy the great outdoors / summits. Pictures included for beta
