6/13/2016 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 6/13/2016, By: jbchalk Info: We climbed & skied the Boudoir Saturday (6/11). Would have been nice to get it an hour or so earlier, but you surely can't ask the babysitter to come over at 5am. I would think Boudoir will definitely not be continuous come this weekend. The bottom was barely skiable with rocks coming up to bite your skis. Good thing I haven't waxed nor given the bottom of my skis any attention since I first got them. The crux chokes were absolutely fine and skiable with good snow. |

6/7/2016 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 6/7/2016, By: mike14 Info: Went up the standard route today. Snow was intermittent on the old road up. The snow was soft but easily traversed. I only post holed a couple of times. No need for traction or floatation. Knocked out Peerless too. Went up the north side where I had to deal with some talus and steep snow, but only for short distances. Came down the south side and easily went up Horseshoe. Snow is melting quickly- lots of running water and mud on the way down. |

6/4/2016 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 6/4/2016, By: Trotter Info: Walked over from Peerless Mtn. With some detours, you can avoid most of the snow until the summit ridge. Summit is covered with snow, but it was still crusty at 9 am and required no snowshoes. The snow lower down on the route was soft after 9 am. Some good glissading from the saddle of Horseshoe and peerless. |

6/4/2016 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 6/6/2016, By: Shattuck311 Info: Skinned up the East Slopes. Had to take off the ski's a few times as the snow has melted out significantly in the last week. The Couloir was still in good shape, holding enough snow to easily ski. Was able to make it down to the Lakes below the gully before putting the ski's on our backs again for the remaining 2 or 3 miles back to Leavick site. |

5/29/2016 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 5/30/2016, By: Grover Info: Plenty of snow still on Horseshoe Mtn. (and Mt. Sheridan and Mt. Sherman for that matter). The 'Trip Report' by alexhenes will give you more beta. I rode down the east slopes of Horseshoe, went under Peerless, and then connected to the basin the leads back to the normal 4x4 road used for Sherman. |

Highly recommend this route - from the Sherman/Sheridan saddle, hang a right on any one of many trail segments. You can either go over sheridan or around it to the east. If you go around (as I did, hitting sheridan from the south on the return), don‘t be tempted to descend down to the road (East slopes route) Aim for the flat shoulder of Peerless Mntn. and find the road/trail. Ditto between peerless and horseshoe. |

6/21/2015 Route: Gully to the left of Boudoir Posted On: 6/22/2015, By: Jay521 Info: Snow is getting very soft and the Boudoir Couloir is very, very thin. Heard and saw some rockfall in the couloir. There is a gully to the left side (south) of Horseshoe that was fairly solid and made for a good route up. Standard east slope coming down had very soft snow - some of which was unavoidable. |

5/30/2015 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 5/31/2015, By: fakejox Info: Parked approximately 1.25 miles before Leavick. Cold temps overnight and in the morning (~26 ˚F) hardened the snow enough so we were able to float on top of the crust without snowshoes all the way to the cirque. Going up the Boudoir, the snow was bomber for 90% of the climb. It got a bit soft near the top as the sun warmed it up, so we skirted left to avoid the path of the overhung cornice on the summit ridge. We traversed to Peerless after topping out on Horseshoe, and glissaded back into the basin. By about 10 AM, we were hiking in mashed potatoes and snowshoes were a must! |

4/25/2015 Route: East Slopes Posted On: 4/25/2015, By: rambis_21 Info: Hiked Horseshoe this morning via East Slopes. Had to get out and use the new snowshoes. I drove my car up the road as far as the tire tracks went as I knew if I went further I‘d get stuck. I reversed back until I was comfortable turning the car around in the snow. Parked and didn‘t have issues. The big snow from a week ago is what is burying the road at this point. A few days of warm sun would melt off a significant amount (when it comes). The road will be impassible for some time still. Had to walk on the snow a few miles to get to the big mine building. The hike went smoothly. Snow is in good shape, didn‘t have any concern really of finding a safe route (given it is Class 1) as it was very consolidated underneath in most areas or not more that 1-2 feet deep. Would be a great ski from the summit though all the way to the car! Wind was pretty horrendous on the summit ridge and summit. Very cold. Below the ridge wasn‘t so bad. I didn‘t track my miles but I‘m estimating 12 miles round trip. On my way down, I passed a number of people all heading up to Sherman. |

4/10/2015 Route: Boudoir Couloir Posted On: 4/12/2015, By: JtheChemE Info: Took Fourmile road up to where the snow started ~11k. 10 miles roundtrip from there. Carried snowshoes, and found them to be unnecessary. In the couloir, snow ranged from just barely sinking in, to deeper unconsolidated material up to the knee, overall still good climbing. Observed solo skier climb and descend the couloir. We descended the north ridge on foot. Ran into some fellow 14ers members, nice meeting you guys! |
