Route: With un13,684 from little Cimarron east
Posted On: 6/25/2025, By: Devil_in_sky
Info: Still a decent amount of snow right at tree line, then a couple snow crossings going from the other UN 13er by sheep mountain up UN 13,684- one of which was a little sketch. But once I was back on the ridge, 13,684 is a pretty fun ridge run. From that one to silver is a breeze on tundra grass. 20 miles and 6.5k vert. *note- one trip report said that you turn right off the little cimmeron creek trail exactly 5 miles from the start, but this is INCORRECT. It's more like 4.6 miles in that you turn to go up between sheep mtn and it's little un neibor. Good route!

Route: From Nellie Creek
Posted On: 9/16/2024, By: 14ercooper
Info: Bit of water running down the slope I ascended, and a lot of marshes and water crossing to get there. Everything was covered in a layer of frost in the morning, but that all burned off quite nicely after the sun came up. Temps swung from high 20s to low 70s over the course of the day, so definitely pack layers! Fantastic weather, and a great way to wrap up the bicentennials!

Route: Cimarron to Fall
Posted On: 10/24/2023, By: Skimo95
Info: Sheep to silver has minimal snow. Following the trail from Cimarron split required a brief boot pack. Essentially summer conditions from the summit of sheep to silver, did not need spikes. Descent from silver was straight forward and the sidehill on return rocky. Shuttle to fall creek 18.5mi 6,100. Both trailheads are 2WD

Route: Sheep-Big Blue loop
Posted On: 8/25/2023, By: L1zzz1ee
Info: Great route. I followed previous trip reports. We took up one of the drainages directly below the summit of Sheep. The elevation gain and gradient felt pretty brutal with backpacks on. We encountered the previously described craptastic rock between 13080 to 13681. Camped just below the ridge between 13681 and Silver. Gorgeous spot. Loved the traverse to Big Blue. Nice demoralizing scree gully down to the valley to meet up with the Fall Creek trail. Saw and heard the elks. There was a distinct lack of trail and many down trees once the Cimarron Trail heads down from the ridge to maybe a mile after the river crossing.

Route: Fall Creek
Posted On: 7/9/2023, By: tjf242424
Info: All of the peaks in the sequence Sheep-13100-13681-Silver-13051-13016 are good to go. The access to the ridge for Silver and 13681 is holding a lot of snow, but it is possible to avoid it entirely on the right (see photo, from 13016). The rest of the usual routes to all 6 peaks are dry. No snow equipment needed.

Route: North Ridge from Sheep Mtn
Posted On: 10/8/2017, By: CarpeDM
Info: Bits of snow on north/shaded/lee aspects. Did not bring gaiters or axe, wore summer hiking shoes, and didn't regret it. The only time I used microspikes was on an icy log on a stream crossing. The Little Cimarron trail is wonderful: easy to follow by full moon. My hike included a ridge run of 13ers from Sheep Mtn down to Silver Mtn. The road to the Little Cimarron TH is 2wd with washboards.
