9/29/2024 Route: 403->544->ct->gudy Posted On: 9/29/2024, By: yaktoleft13 Info: Left a car at the cooper creek trailhead, then drove 2 cars to 12k on cinnamon pass. Saw a crv successfully navigate cinnamon, so do with that what you will, even though from the LC side it's notably harder than engineer. Went up from the road, then contoured around the basin on game trails and an old road to reach 403. 544 was a quick jaunt. Backtracked from there a bit, then descended scree/grass low into the basin below CT. Gained the saddle from low in the basin (except one of us, who stayed higher and scrambled a few moves on the ridge), then ascended the grassy slopes up to CT. Rocky descent off CT, then straightforward rocky climb up gudy. For descent, went back toward CT and bombed straight down a grassy slope to the trail and back to the car. 9.8 miles, 3800, 6:25 from car to car shuttle. |

7/2/2023 Route: Gudy/CT/540A/427 Posted On: 7/5/2023, By: 9patrickmurphy Info: We started from Cooper Creek and then ascended a grassy gully up to the ridge between CT and Gudy. From the summit of Gudy, it looks like we could have come up from Cooper Lake without too much snow trouble. Ridge to CT is talus but not loose. Ridge to 540A is even worse than expected. No good. Not fun. Awful rock with considerable exposure, it goes at class 3 for quite a while. Added a lot of time to the day. I would recommend the route SupraNihilEst took, though the basin is covered in snow right now. From 540A, we took the ridge before dropping on to some old mining roads that mostly avoided snow to get to 427. You might want spikes for a snow crossing here. Our descent into Cleveland Gulch was direct, we took 427s SSW ridge all the way down. Mostly grassy, but with loose rock underneath made it sort of slow going. A massive snow bridge crosses Cleveland Gulch right now making the creek crossing easy. We were very happy to have shuttled a car up here for the end of this beastly day. It took a lot out of us. Something like 8 miles with 5400 of gain. 540As rotten ridge was at least 25% of the days effort, I think. |

10/15/2022 Route: Cooper Creek Posted On: 10/16/2022, By: Sbenfield Info: Hiked along with CT, 13540, & 13427. Started at Cooper creek TH and a steep grunt up Gudy. All southern aspects in the area are dry. Continued on to the other peaks after Gudy. Took a useful detour as detailed in Supranihilest's TR to avoid a nasty gully between CT and 540. Found micro spikes useful for some small snow crossings here and there. Orange coloring advised as we spotted several hunters |

6/7/2021 Route: Cooper Creek/CT Saddle Posted On: 6/9/2021, By: HikerGuy Info: Started at Cooper Creek trailhead and ascended saddle between CT Peak and Gudy Peak. Route is dry up to saddle and on ridges between the peaks. Traversed on from CT to 13,540A and 13,427. Ridge between CT and 13,540 is bit tricky and loose, but it goes and is short, no more than Class 3. Route was 10.37 miles and 5,153 feet. |
