12/30/2023 Route: Spring Creek Pass Posted On: 12/30/2023, By: csf-lhiver Info: Didn't summit, started late and didn't want to finish in the dark. Made it to roughly 37.94757, -107.11140. Flotation is advised. If you are like me and consider something skiable if there is at least a trace of snow on it, then it would make for a better skin/ski across the flat portion, as well as a quicker way back to the car when getting back to tree line. |

12/30/2023 Route: South Slopes Posted On: 12/31/2023, By: dolfh Info: Solid trench in place to treeline. Climbed up talus and shallow snow to get on top of Snow Mesa. Slow progress up to Baldy Cinco/ BNEC saddle. Tedious punching through with snow shoes on. Summit area is narrow with steep drop-off to the north. |

6/18/2023 Route: CDT via Spring Creek Pass Posted On: 6/20/2023, By: Scott Conro Info: Dry enough to avoid most of the snow, but hope you like wet feet. See Baldy Cinco conditions report for photos. |

5/30/2023 Route: Spring Creek Trailhead Posted On: 5/30/2023, By: EH974871 Info: Starting at 6 AM the trail started out, frozen and solid. The snow on the trail on Snow Mesa was frozen enough to support my body weight with my pack. Mud wasnt an issue because everything was still frozen. Snow Mesa is still (for the most part) covered in snow, and its melting in the afternoon. Post-holing is more probable if you wait too long to return. |

5/27/2022 Route: Spring Creek Pass Posted On: 5/29/2022, By: HikerGuy Info: Summer condition. No deadfall of concern on trail up to Snow Mesa. Good car camping spot about 500 yards above pass parking area. |

4/28/2022 Route: From Snow Mesa Posted On: 4/28/2022, By: desertdog Info: Traversed from Baldy no es Cinco to Baldy Cinco to 13162. Very little snow on these mountains. What is there is in good shape for climbing. After 13162, I back tracked to Baldy Cinco's south slope then dropped down to Snow Mesa from there. Did not need spikes or crampons. I did use snow shoes on the afternoon's hike out across the Snow Mesa. The bottom part of the CO trail is a mix of snow and mud. Get ready to get your feet wet on the walk out. These are pretty easy to knock out with the current conditions. |

5/28/2021 Route: Spring Creek Pass Posted On: 5/28/2021, By: ScottLovesRMNP Info: Very little snow left in the trees below Snow Mesa. From the mess, snow was solid in the AM for boots only. Went to saddle with Baldy Cinco and headed up from there, just 15 minutes. I looped this with Baldy Cinco, Point 13,162, and Point 13,510. Wanted Point 13,020 too, but a massive cornice persists on that section. Two important notes on this long loop hike I haven't seen mentioned before: (1) All but the first and last hour are exposed above tree line. You will be up there in the wide open for hours, so make sure you have a very good weather outlook. (2) After bagging all peaks and returning via the Colorado Trail, there is a significant amount of cumulative uphill on the return, made worse today by miles of posthole hell. Be sure to conserve some energy for this! |

5/2/2021 Route: East Ridge Posted On: 5/2/2021, By: ReginaThomas Info: We went up today from Spring Creek pass. In the morning there was a nice frozen snowmobile track to follow. Once we reached Snow Mesa we needed snowshoes til the final summit ridge which we gained from the saddle between Baldy Cinco and No Es Cinco. During the crossing of snow Mesa and the ascent to the saddle we heard nearly consistent whumpfs in the snow, but it was too low angle to slide. By the descent the snowpack was unsupportive and we were postholing in our snowshoes. The lower trail is starting to melt out and had numerous dry sections from the Mesa to the Pass. |

9/2/2019 Route: South Slopes Posted On: 9/3/2019, By: supranihilest Info: There's a large gorge/drainage that blocks initial access to "Baldy no es Cinco". It contains a creek crossing that I had to make a running jump over since I couldn't find easy passage. Other than that the route is Class 1 hiking for the majority and Class 2 talus near the top. |

5/24/2019 Route: From Spring Creek Pass Trailhead Posted On: 5/25/2019, By: WildWanderer Info: Consistent snow from trailhead to summit. Trenched a trail to the mesa. On my way out a snowmobiler followed my tracks and made a groomed trail. Lots of cornices in the area. Wind blew away tracks above treeline. Perfect conditions! Tons of snow, only needed snowshoes. |
