10/22/2023 Route: From Stony Pass Posted On: 10/24/2023, By: IHikeLikeAGirl Info: A bit of snow is coming, but as of Sunday.... Summer-ish conditions, a little snow to contend with, could maybe be avoided, but I was impatient. :) Started off on tundra, then made my way to climber's left to ascend the talus on a fairly low angle slope. Then I hit tundra again, and then the scramble to the top. Rock near the summit was very fractured and, given the piles of rubble here and there, sections are clearly crumbling away so, pick your holds and foot placements carefully. On the descent I found bits of a great trail through much of this section, keeping this at C2, with a 2+ here and there. P.S. Stony Pass road was in great condition. Easily made it up in my Jeep Cherokee with 8.8" clearance. |

6/10/2022 Route: North Ridge Posted On: 6/11/2022, By: supranihilest Info: Taking the north ridge directly from Stony Pass is probably easiest. It's mostly grass and talus until the summit block, which has a bit of Class 2+ scrambling on the east side of the ridge. I did this peak from Green Mountain A and the ridge direct doesn't go and the east slopes are miserable, steep, loose talus. From SPP to Green drop down a white scree gully off the ridge, that'll get you to the gully up Green fastest. |
