6/11/2025 Route: Dead Man Creek Posted On: 6/13/2025, By: JasonKline Info: I followed the GPX track uploaded by Reg0928. As advertised, the approach from Liberty Gate via Dead Man Creek is horrendous. To say that the trail is overrun is a huge understatement. I'll add some photos illustrating the deadfall. However long you think it will take you, add more time (it took me over 12 hours). On the bright side, there were no mosquitos (that will likely change soon). Dead Man Peak was in full summer conditions with no snow/ice, as were its Music Pass neighbors. |

6/10/2023 Route: Dead Man Creek Posted On: 6/12/2023, By: Reg0928 Info: Decent trail up Dead Man Ck for the first 6.5-ish miles. I broke off at that point and bushwhacked/boulder hopped to gain Dead Man Pk's north ridge. I ran the ridge over to Pt 13384 and then dropped into the Pole Ck drainage for my descent. Tedious talus hopping all the way down the west face of 13384 down to the Pole Ck drainage. I wasn't able to pick up the Pole Ck trail, and I did lots of pretty miserable bushwhacking most of the way down. I picked up an old 4wd road eventually, but it lead me directly into private property. The owner of the property was there at his cabin, and he let me cross the property after I explained to him that returning the was I came wasn't really an option. He gave me a phone number to call for access permission and a waiver for the future. If anyone wants the number shoot me a PM. No snow anywhere on route, but expect lots of bushwhacking and talus hopping. If looping from Dead Man Ck to Pole Ck expect a rather large day. |
