Route: From north fork campground

Info: Ran the ridge from 13150 to 13082. Able to use trail runners, snow really not a factor. Crossed the outlet stream below the reservoir and bushwhacked up the slope to the basin below 150, then ascended a S facing slope to access 150's east slopes. From there, stayed ridge proper with logical bypasses till after 082. Occasional scrambling up 150 and senawee, then a stiff downclimb off of both senawee and pomeroy. Crux (other than the road taking forever to drive) was a 30ish foot stiff 4th downclimb off senawee (pic below). Descent off 082 was easy, able to glissade quite a bit, then a short walk to the road and back to the campground. My route was 7ish miles, 3300ish feet, and took 5:30

Route: SE slopes, traverse to 13,070

Info: Climbed with 13,070' from N Fork Reservoir, ~5 miles and ~2,000'. Road to Reservoir was rocky as hell and just barely Subaruable. It took 45 minutes to drive each way from Angel of Shavano CG to the Reservoir. From the Res, followed road up toward peaks, then turned left at old blocked off road and picked my way up Pomeroy's mellow SE slopes. Ridge over to 13,070' was fun and never exceeded easier class 3, but the exposure was exciting in spots. Descended 13,070's ESE ridge to the first prominent saddle and scree surfed a short way down to an old trail descending back toward the road. Summit register broken on Pom, but in good shape on 13,070. Pro tip: avoid paying the reservoir's $7 day use fee to some rich Californians by parking just below or just above the turnoff for the reservoir parking area.

Route: South Slopes

Info: Still lots of snow and the willows are thick and everywhere. Unless you pick a perfect route you're likely to walk through some marshy stuff and end up with soaked feet like we did. Stick to the road from the reservoir as much as possible since this avoids most or all of the marshes.

Route: via Calico and Unnamed 13,070

Info: The road past the Angel of Shavano Campground (Road 240) is open and clear to around 11,350. The road had a lot of downed trees that had been cut and moved off the road prior to that point. There is snow and another dozen trees that need to be cut and moved before you can get to the lake or up the Billings Road. I walked up the road took the righthand road at the sign for Billings Lake and left the road shortly after that up a nice drainage to the 13,070/Calico saddle. East to Calico and then retraced my steps back to the saddle then continuing on to 13,070 and Pomeroy. The route I took was 7.2 miles and 2500 feet +/-. The first picture shows one of the narrow stretches of road where the trees are cut. The second picture is at the end of the open road at 11,350 +/-. The third picture is from 13,070 looking back towards Calico (12,944 in 1955 and 12,951 now). The rgister on Calico was interesting, a 1" diameter glass bottle. There was the first slip of paper that showed the Colorado Mountain Club on the peak in August, 1955. I do not know the history of CMC and how long it has been in existence. There was a group in 1959, 1960 and then the few other 3"x4" yellowed and brittle slips of paper having been signed in very infrequently from 1955 and up to mine. The last looking like it said 2010. Grizzly Peak is just left center. The last picture shows Pomeroy from 13,070. The ridge between the two peaks is about 0.6 miles with the first 0.2 and last 0.1 being Class 2 and rocky. The middle section has some Class 3 and if you stay on the top of the ridge you will find some steeper slabs where you can grab the top edge and have small cracks for footholds.
