7/6/2024 Route: North Ridge from Gold Dust Posted On: 7/8/2024, By: rhammond530 Info: We took the ridge from Gold Dust to Pika. The 4th class gully to bypass the first / northern-most tower on the ridge still had snow in it. It was soft enough to kick steps into by the time we got to it, but it was no-fall terrain. We ended up using the gully wall on the right and kicked steps to the left to get through the top 50' of this gully, the snow will probably be around for another 2-3 weeks. After the dihedral between the 2 towers, we downclimbed east into another loose gully which was dry. The north headwall of Pika was also completely dry. |
