11/11/2023 Route: South Ridge from Hayden Mountain South Posted On: 11/11/2023, By: supranihilest Info: Class 2+ by the easiest route, which appears to be the south ridge. We did Hayden Mountain South after Richmond, there's snow going down to Richmond Pass and then on the trail up Hayden South. The ridge direct from Hayden South to "K&3Q" does go but it's steep, horribly loose, and scary. Gullies just a bit back go with no problem, then reascend to the ridge past the difficulties. "K&3Q" has a bit of Class 2+ at the bottom and it's all stupid loose but not hard really. We descended back down and took steep grass into the basin then ascended snowy slopes back to the Richmond trail. No snow gear needed currently. |
