Took my dog Maximus up his first 14er last week. I decided MT. Democrat was a good one since I was staying in Breck
and had climbed Quandary last summer. Gorgeous day out the views were amazing! Maximus was a beast on the
mountain! The dirt road up to the trailhead is really rocky so I recommend a good 2WD if you don't have
a 4WD vehicle. We left the trailhead at 7:45am and made the summit about 10am. This was my second
14er but this is a good one if you are a beginner for me the only real challenge was the elevation.
We spent about 30 minutes on the summit as Maximus was enjoying some treats from all the friendly climbers up top
