Well, I wrote up a report on this moderate classic climb, so I thought I would share. With the crappy mountain weather over the last while, we headed to the desert for a much needed breath of fresh air. My 24 hrs away in the desert air did a body good. Plus, I wanted to show Marsters how nice it is to climb this route with not a single other climber in the Fisher Towers much less on this extremely popular route. The poor lad had 20+ queued up on this route when he sent it the week before. I need to at least try to show him up every once in a while whether I really do or not Nevertheless, I know its not one of Noah's or Derek's or Brian C's extremely impressive epic Fisher Tower aid climbs, but it was fun for me and my crew. If you check it out, hope you enjoy.
Nice work! That is one ridiculous rock formation. I don't think I've ever felt quite the sense of exposure while standing on top of that rickety rock (can't believe that thing, heck, the whole formation, is still standing!)
I always thought people recommended humping the diving board a la Mikey for amusement and nobody actually climbs it that way. Granted, the thing's at my chest and only at your ankles. Nice job leading it clean!
Have you done Owl Rock? Somewhat like Lizard Rock but more interesting.
Thanks for putting a name to an image. I a have seen a photo that corkscrew before but couldn't figure out what it was. Little did I know I that I have passed it several times. Even though it's bolted, it still looks pretty scary and airy up there!
AlexeyD - Indeed it is a heightened sense of exposure up there! Cool to hear you felt the same way as me!
Jay - Give er a go, buddy :) Hope you are doing well!
Ryan - Personally, I truly enjoyed the hump move on the diving board. Did you practice your standing broad jump on that thing or go around to the climber's left? Thanks for the comment, buddy. No Owl Rock for me. Were is that?
Tom - Yeah, no headstand for me :) No way. Glad the TR brought back some nice memories for you.
CreekRunner - Yeah, its a pretty iconic image that summit tower. So crazy its still standing. Who knows for how long.
