 Leavick All Behind
Horseshoe Mountain
13,898' - East Slopes

I had the good fortune to escape Denver and hike up Horseshoe Mountain this last week. It was a relatively uneventful hike but a nice return to the Mosquito Range. I had attempted Horseshoe Mountain this last December but was stopped by the snow. I always appreciate being in and around the Leavick area because mining ruins are fun to capture in pictures. Included in this blog area several pictures and descriptions of the route, and some glissade-able snow currently on Peerless Mountain.

I've always thought Horseshoe was a pretty cool big beast that doesn't get justice from photos. That cirque just looks really cool to me. Also, based on your title I might have been pronouncing Leavick wrong for years. Thanks for the pics!

Thanks Jay :) Glissading is something else. Alex, I hadn't even considered other pronunciations - my title could be completely misleading

Yeah I've been pronouncing it like the beginning levy, where your title made me wonder if it was more like leave-ick. We're getting to the bottom of some serious stuff here - anyone else know what it really is?
