Not the Gore... (but okay I guess)

I was hoping you'd write this one up. What a cool thing, to find some solitude on what's becoming an increasingly popular summit. Well written as always, and some great climbing shots to boot. Thanks for sharing the beta, a nice distraction on a slow Monday!

A seldom seen part of Capitol. Really liked the pictures. It's an intimidating feature that so many of us know as we sit at the lake and look to the summit. Well done.

I hope Chris realizes that you wandering around in your underpants is really not all that remarkable. Just gotta get used to it. Great write-up on the route.

PS 9.8mm rope??! single ropes are sooo much lighter nowadays, buddy.

Ate McDonalds for a month straight before getting on the route, those off fingers would have felt like fingers. Just a thought man.

Looks stellar dude! Always wanted to approach by bike from Aspen this route, Beidleman style although the MacDonalds may prove disadvantageous for that outing.

Justin - glad to write it up. I get lazier and lazier about trip reports, but want to write up and remember the good ones. Hope you are well.

School - thanks for the comment. It's definitely intimidating upon first glance for sure. For years and years back in the early 2000s, I had no clue there was even a route up that thing.

Marsters - indeed, it is not that remarkable - fairly commonplace at the Chalk house, spring skis, and at the Creek. Yeah, buddy, 9.8mm yes. You know me man, you know me. I need you to show me the new ways of the force.

Abe - I think I'd rather spend a month in prison than eat Mickey Ds for a month. Yep, Baldwin was texting ole Neal on the summit and Neal responded to him that that off-fingers crack is a "sucker" crack. It lures the noobs into it while not looking for the facial features. Unfortunately, Baldwin got "suckered".
