 La Plata- La Snow
This was my first 14er of the year and what a way to start. I was surprised at the amount of snow still on the mountain. As you can see below the upper route was covered. I would strongly recommend gaiters, post holing was unavoidable.

Looking back at the route you can see just how steep it was.

The push to the top was long and slow.

With the peak in site, the snow was now purely majestic. And the weather was absolutely beautiful.

I imagine the summit tube is buried somewhere in the picture below.

I camped just below treeline. The hike to camp was uneventful, but as I started my hike to the peak, my knee was killing me the whole way. My pace was very slow, but every hiker coming down was very encouraging. Making this peak special and hopefully I just have a knee sprain.

The lower half of the route was dry, but still very nice!

I posted the below photo for stlhngntuf and his dog. I remember thinking at that point "I wish I had four legs!"

My wife and I will attempt San Luis this weekend. If my knee is not better by then, I'll get it checked out. It still is a bit sore. My wife was out of town visiting her parents and she was a bit jealous. I did add the last photo with you and your dog. Hope to see you guys on another mountain.

Hope the knees is ok - you looked pretty sore a few steps as we went up the talsu field. Great job on getting to the summit, your wife missed out. got a photo of you taking a photo of me on my report.
Take care.
