Wind River was an awesome - albeit violent - movie with some epic shots of... the Wind River Range.

this is a very weird indie movie - good one - and has great sweeping shots of montana i believe.

Oh also - I need to take this moment to diss on Power of the Dog.

Terrible movie - and it allegedly takes place in montana but was shot in new zealand.

First Blood (1982). Excellent cinematography of PNW mountains. Rambo, who served in Vietnam as a Green Beret, goes postal when an arrogant sheriff rubs him the wrong way and his flashbacks take over.

Speaking of PNW mountains in 70s movies, The Deer Hunter for some reason had its midwestern factory workers go hunting deer near Mount Baker:

The cars, hair, and the Coleman Glacier were all bigger back then.

Similar to seano's observation:

The Revenant, but the filming locations of the Canadian Rockies in Alberta are a bit dramatic for what is today the southern shore of Shadehill Reservoir, South Dakota, where Hugh Glass was mauled by a grizzly.

Han Solo? (Pretty nice shot of Monte Paterno and the Tres Cime.)

Darin,

The Alps and a young Julie Andrews! :-D

Although Eiger Sanction is a good second choice.
