Co-Ed 14er Record Attempt 2024

Curious. With FKT attempts (or, “this” FKT attempt), are the Sawatch peaks a 2, 3, or 4 day task? I’m headed to Bel - Ox on Monday and wondering if I could run into them at some point. I guess one thing that would increase those chances is, my time frame of being on the Bel Ox trail is probably ten times the amount of time they’ll be up there!

A2, you guys are incredible! Fantastic job by the crew as well.

New moon at 14,000 feet - the night sky must be awesome! Make sure you take a moment to drink it in - for me, at least, it's super inspiring.

Day 3: Finished San Luis feeling slow, made it to Culebra around 7! Thanks to Carlos for being flexible and waiting for A2! Our friend Megan waited and climbed the mountain with A2 which was an encouragement to them along with the people we met along the way also encouraging us along. It was another beautiful blue sky day.

After that A2 whisked off to Lake Como road for the Blanca Group. A ride on “the rocket” got A2 up that notorious road (thanks Jon!). Still hitting splits for LB, some clouds rolled in on the traverse. Unfortunately, on the gash traverse a rock fell as scraped up Andrea’s leg which slowed them down a bit. Running a bit behind now as a result but happy for a little rest and still in good spirits for a big day ahead.

Waking up and seeing that they are headed up the Crestones group. After a night spent on gash and Lindsey oof. I hope Andreas leg is ok. Definitely a good thing the Crestone group will be in daylight! Keep going you guys are inspiring!

Hey guys! I’m posting from the slopes of Humboldt with the first rays of sunshine on us this morning. Yesterday was definitely brutal. Everything was pretty smooth until Blanca, and then on our way down to Gast Ridge. This weird cloud moved in. It was cool. We got some great pictures, but it was like trying to come down the ridge in a white out. It was really difficult. And my memory of that ridge was absolutely terrible. So that was just a disaster. So was Lindsay! It’s been so long since I’ve been up there. I really blew the route.

Andrea is really struggling. She needs more emotional support than I seem to be able to offer up. So we’re hoping for a good showing from her female friends in the next few days! We’ve lost a lot of time on our split, but out bodies are holding together.

I honestly think the best stories though are what the crew has had to deal with. Every single day it’s pretty amazing what they’ve been pulling off! It’s pretty humbling to have such a group of people out here doing everything they can to help us out.

It’s really cool how many people are giving us encouragement out here. But anyway, I guess I should get back to hiking.
