Doh! Well that wasn’t supposed to happen! I’ve had an asthma attack since down at the Animas River (yes I’m that stubborn!) and I thought I could manage it but it’s pretty severe. Hiking up things is pretty brutal but I made it to the end of Seg 22/beginning of Seg 23 and am bailing down towards Lake City. Hopefully I can flag someone once on the main road tomorrow.

Been a bit of a bumpy ride! My cohort’s car fuel pump bit the dust and she has been stuck in Durango this entire time with a puppy. Hopefully I can reconnect with her but… mountains in the way!

Alright time to plug in some tunes and make some tracks. I put so much into this project and it’s always sad when things go to pot.

Oof, that’s a brutal way to have to bail. As a fellow asthmatic, I am astounded by your perseverance. To maintain that pace since the Animas while experiencing an asthma attack is unreal.

Stubbornness is a double edged sword!

Small update: made it to Lake City and crashing in a front yard. Will figure out transportation this weekend.

Justin
If you want to go to Durango then I could pick you up in lake city and drive you to Durango.
Contact me via text if possible

Or post reply on forum.

Wondering if he also needs some albuterol. He probably would have mentioned that by now, but maybe worth consideration.

Hey everyone! I’m hanging in Salida at the moment, having gotten a lucky hitch. If there is a random ride to Durango I’ll take it but that ship may have passed. My asthma was the worst I’ve ever experienced but it’s calmed down significantly (I can talk again!) so no pressing need for an inhaler.

I am so appreciative for everyone’s help— I’m amazed I got out of lake city at all!
