Re: Beginner solo hiking on Mt Bierstadt

I did not summit Bierstadt solo but my husband and I added a solo hiker to our ascent. Half way up, we kept taking breaks at the same places and she asked if she could join us. We ended up hiking the entire thing together. Perhaps you will meet a friendly couple like us but if you don’t, you won’t be “alone”. There were lots of people on this trial. At the top, the girl and my husband stopped because they are both afraid of heights so some friendly guys took my summit photo. My only advice is don’t rely on others for anything. Take PLENTY of water, ibuprofen, snacks, first aid or anything else this app recommends. I’ve had to give up my own items to other solo hikers that we not prepared. Good for them that I’m motherly like that 😂. Good luck!
