Eastern Sierra Conditions Update

Post by nyker »

In case anyone is venturing out there, here are a couple shots of Big Pine area, south of Bishop in the Palisades. I was able to get in a nice couloir climb in the area. There is still quite a bit of snow there.
The second photo is showing Mt Kidd in the distance behind the South Fork trail.

Mt Whitney further south (not pictured) is also covered in snow - The Main Trail is snow free for the first couple of miles, after which the route becomes more vague and disappears under several feet of snowpack.

Good for you. So, you climbed it last weekend? One day trip or did you camp?
