Gila wilderness NM

Considering a backpacking trek in the Gila Wilderness of NM the first week of June. Curious if anyone has experience there, particularly during early June. Thank you.

I was just in that general area doing dayhikes. It's bone dry. Much of it has been burned by forest fires in recent years. I understand the highpoint, Whitewater Baldy, is treed in and viewless.

I did a trail run on Black Peak near Pinos Altos on Friday. I'll echo Matt's comment that it's very dry there right now.
