Wow. The PCT is the most easy to follow trail of all time. Most hikers on it are using GPS app. And how could you think such a prominent summit would be the correct route? This just goes to show the level of hikers that are attempting the PCT these days.

My guess is that according to this snow accumulation map, north to south PCT was the better option this summer. Snow could stay on the California Muir trail part ALL summer.
