Grand partner

Post by evan85 »

Hey all, looking for a new climbing partner in the Denver area, and hoping to bag the Exum ridge before the season’s over.

I’ve been steadily progressing the last couple of years and wanting a partner to get to do some badass climbs. I can comfortably lead 5.8/5.9 sport and looking to expand past the 10a trad point.

I’m dedicated to the sport (and a safe climber) and train weekly. I have a membership at Movement if looking to possibly meet up indoors. My mountain project is “Evan S” and my ticks are up to date.

If you are climbing at a higher level, and are looking for someone that is dedicated and self motivated to the sport, please DM me and let’s see if we are compatible!

Looks like you posted this same thing yesterday. You could just comment on the old post which will bump it up for visibility instead of creating a new post. Or maybe delete the old one.

Upper or Lower Exum? How much experience do you have in the alpine, trad, moving quickly with a pack including boots, crampons and an ice axe on your back? I did the complete ridge last month and it is not a trivial climb.

Exum is not a sport climb, but I am guessing you are looking for someone who can lead the route for you? Exum Mounatin Guides are a good company and I bet you could learn a lot from one of their experienced guides.
Good luck, it's a great day in the mountains!

Yes, I posted this same content yesterday . . . in a different forum, as some people only look in certain forums.

If you had looked at my mountain project profile, it would explain a lot of what I have climbed, including alpine routes. (I am an experienced climber) I guess the snapshot of what I can lead in sport wasn't good enough - sorry.

There are multiple "Evan S" on MP, even just in CO. Maybe you can post a direct link to your MP profile, to help any potential partners in checking out your ticks.

So the person you are looking for to climb the Grand has to be from Denver?

I wouldn't mind climbing the Grand, but I'm not close to Denver.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

Yep, couldn’t Find you since they were 25 other Evan S on mp. Anyways, it’s within your range if you find a good partner. It’s nothing like Mittelegi or hornli, that’s for sure.

What weekend(s) were you looking do it? I could probably swing it the last weekend of August or the 2nd weekend of September if either work with your schedule . I did upper Exum 2017 and would like to go back for the full Exum. I would consider myself a solid 5.8 leader with a lot of mileage on 5.7 and lower alpine.
