Ice Mtn is gonna melt

Post by mikemalick »

Mountain Forecast seems to be having some issues with Ice Mountain: https://www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks ... ecasts/460

At least now (5:30PM), it is showing some crazy results!

Right coordinates and shows correctly on the map:

Huron Peak just a short hop away, however, shows sane results.

Imagine climbing a mountain in temperatures like that.

BTW. I haven’t found Mountain Forecasts to be super accurate. I like a combo of good ol pessimistic NOAA and SpotWX https://spotwx.com/

That result is also for an elevation of 1509’, so roughly 12400’ below the summit.

Maybe the volcano is erupting, and this is for the crater floor.
