How do I keep these pants up?

Post by colospgs »

I've had a couple of pairs of these snow pants, one bought 30 years ago, one bought last year. They both have the same drawstring cinch mechanism which seem to be the only way to tighten the waistband. I find that to be inadequate since hiking all day tends to loosen the little plastic cinch which results in the waistband loosening. The result is pants drooping down and exposed lower back. Constantly stopping and pulling the pants up. Heat loss due to exposed skin. Danger due to distraction on snow covered slopes. Lost time due to stopping and adjusting gear. How are these things supposed to work? What am I missing?

Perhaps it's time for, make your own belt loops or go with adventure suspenders*.

which are the same as regular suspenders, just sounds cooler prefixed with, "adventure"

Just tie the drawstring.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

I had that issue, bought some neon orange suspender straps with the gator teeth.

You will feel so much better after.

+1 on suspenders. They are much more comfortable than a small string digging into you.

Just tie it, man. There's probably a Youtube video out there if you're unfamiliar with the complicated technique.

Pull them up to your ribs and tighten there. It's the new/old "mom jean" trend, anyway.

No,no,no.
So old fashioned.
The new trend is going pantless.

Um, I'm a dude (see photo). Thanks for the laughs though. I got some suspenders, they seem comfortable and I'm sure that will solve it. Thank you.
