Recommendations for things to do/see/eat in Marble, CO
A friend and I are headed to the Lead King Basin Trailhead (from the Front Range, picking her up in Frisco) tomorrow afternoon/early evening to car camp before climbing Snowmass on Sunday, but we were curious if we should make some time to explore a little in the town of Marble (or anywhere else along the way, really!). Do any of you all have any recommendations for favorites and any other highlights?

There isn't much to explore in the town of Marble itself, but Slow Groovin' BBQ is the obvious (only?) choice for food! Excellent BBQ and not just for the remote location. Otherwise Redstone is a really cute town, Propaganda Pies is a good Detroit style pizzeria in Redstone. Lots of art galleries there, and also recommend checking out the Redstone General Store. Have fun.

There is a disc golf course spread across the ruins of what looks like an old camp for the marble quarry workers. Interesting to explore, even if you don't play disc golf. Also, drive up to the quarry. While you can't actually see them working, it is interesting going up the road and you may find a souvenir chunk of marble laying around. Half a dozen or so galleries also have unique art on display/for sale. So yeah, plan on an hour to take it all in!

yes i'm keeping this mix in the mix
what about keeping two older people happy while their son goes and bangs around in the Raggeds or something?
I'm trying to mastermind a co-pilot mission here - but i'm not sure what they would do during the day? is that redstone castle + lunch + the town enough to call it a full day? how cool is the castle??
and/or - what is going on in marble? there aren't any restaurants? these two could not spend that much time just hanging around marble - right?
also - is it unreasonable to swing back around to aspen area for a dinner from there? seems like it would be.

I think the only restaurant in Marble is the BBQ place. It's a tiny town.
