mspin99 - 14er finisher!

Post by JROSKA »

Congratulations to Mark Spinner (mspin99) on finishing the Colorado 14ers! He started with Mt. Bierstadt in July 2014 and finished today with beautiful Uncompahgre Peak. I was happy to be part of his journey back in 2021 when, with Keith Meyer (vallejoclmbr), in addition to Blanca / Ellingwood, we were able to summit Little Bear. Definitely a memorable trip and he was an awesome teammate for one of the most difficult peaks on the 14er checklist. Great job on accomplishing your goal, Mark!

Congrats on a big accomplishment!
The summit is a source of power. The long view gives one knowledge and time to prepare. The summit, by virtue of the dizzying exposure, leaves one vulnerable. A bit of confidence and a dash of humility is all we get for our work. Yet to share these moments with friends is to be human. C. Anker

I appreciate all the kind words. And thanks Jeff for posting. It's been great just chatting about our remaining peaks over the past few years and pushing each other along. You're next! I'd be remiss to not throw some big thank you's out there to all of the contributors to this site. It truly is an amazing wealth of information that is invaluable in one's goal of climbing all of these impressive peaks we have in our backyard. So, thank you to all that spent the time to put together trip reports, document conditions or simply just spend the time to answer questions one may have. I'd be lying to myself if I reasonably thought I'd accomplish this lofty goal (no pun intended) without this site and everyone that contributes to it. And last and definitely not least, thanks to BillM for creating 14ers.com and keeping it going. I've spent many hours of my life scouring through it, either in the pursuit of personal goals or just seeing what other people are up to. I will continue to do so going forward in wherever the mountains take me.

Thanks again.
