I was last able to go hit the peaks 10 years ago when I was a young 39 year old. Life throwing curves at me like a patellar tendon getting rebuilt has kept me from getting back. I still run 5 miles every day, but I'm not the marathon runner I was back then.
I've done most all the peaks in the area you can see on my checklist, but it's been so long any of them would feel new again.
I want some nice scenic hikes I can comfortably do on my own or find a group to tag along with. Just looking for recommendations on peaks and maybe any down days activities that are nice in the area.
I got a BnB in town and am just getting a week away from the heat of central Nebraska.
I picked up a pair of Brooks Cascadias, got out my old pack, and grabbed some sticks.
